Was just asking a question about help making a pre-race “expense report”. Found some good checklist on the internet.
“Hotel (3 nights … ~$100-200)”
Try to find somewhere else to stay. At most big races there are people who are happy to let you crash.
"I need some cycling shorts (some recommendations please?) "
Buy cheap if you really need to skimp, but shorts is not a place I’d cut back on. I like the Desoto shorts and they’re not too expensive.
“Seal mask to replace my current leaky goggles. http://www.aquasphereusa.com/products/seal_clear.html”
Buy cheaper googles. Almost anything should suffice for one race.
Just a couple ideas. Good luck.
Thanks Slowguy. It was an unfair question to ask to you guys because I donot know what my “race limit” (financial) is. I was going to discuss further with my wife, and see what the most we can afford is, and then I was going to come back and ask the same question with a definite spending limit. Oh, and I guess I should post it in the triathlon section.
As for the goggles/mask … I need them for training also. I have purchased a pair of speedos, and Tyr goggles and both leaked shortly after the intial use. As a contact wearer that swims in a pool, leaky goggles are intolerable although … I’ve gotten so good at using my right arm at opening/draining my goggles during a breath every 50m or so that it’s almost part of my stroke. grin
I would imagine that my father, who will likely be going with me, will pick up the travel-hotel costs. That’s another thing I need to be certain of before I ask the question again.
Thanks for the tips.

Wrong forum TT. Go back to the main forum and repost. Otherwise, the “regulars” are going to highjack this and turn it into a pro conservative/religious right thread.
