I’m down to five movies on my DVD queue and three are some lady-type movie my wife added. My next movie (waiting for me at home) is Guardians of the Galaxy.
I like movies with:
Spaceships
Aliens
Action
Spies
Horror
Running
Winter Soldier was better than the first Capt America. A little darker, not a “period” movie (all takes place in present day. you might give it a shot, unless you just don’t care for comic book movies.
John Wick was a recent movie, so it may not be on Netflix yet.
No matter if it’s not on Netflix yet. I can still add it to my queue’s save queue.
For instance, I have
The Maze Runner (because I have the book on my desk, working in YA publishing and all)
Chappie
Dracula Untold
Interstellar
John Wick (thanks)
Project Almanac
The Babadook (thanks ST)
The Imitation Game (cumberbun!)
Snowpiercer (supposed to be good, but I haven’t seen it yet)
That movie was way beyond stupid. Starts out OK, but then becomes more and more stupid. Ending was incredibly stupid. Too stupid even for the treadmill where I normally like manly action movies.
I just started on Louis CK (pilot was funny) and Sons of Anarchy (kind of slow compared to Breaking Bad or Walking Dead).

You and I seem to have virtually identical taste in movies, but, take this FWIW. I heard great things about it. Sat down w/ wifie and son to watch it. Started out great. We all really liked it. The premise was a little ridiculous, but, the deeper message was intriguing. But, it took a nose dive at the end. Completely stupid ending. Felt very cheated and all 3 of us walked away saying, “what the hell just happened???”

^^^This was totally my experience as well, fwiw. I had high hopes based on reviews, but …yikes… that movie was a dud.

Good to know. I had heard the ending was iffy, but I hadn’t heard that it was bad enough to ruin the whole movie. I’ll probably wait until it shows up on cable.
That’s what I thought when I first heard about the movie, but I saw some reviews that said different, and it was on one or two top sci-fi films to see lists.
I gave a review on this. It matched what you said. If they just cut the last three minutes and had everybody die or an ax to the antagonist head and everybody lives happily ever after it would have worked.
I have two netflix queues. One is for the movies/tv shows I want to stream, the other is for the ones I want to receive a Blueray for (more recent releases). I get one DVD at a time.
I also stream thru Prime (there is a lot of overlap with Netflix, but I get it because of the free shipping)
