So a lot of people have been telling me I’m looking good and it looks like I lost weight lately, blah, blah, blah… I kind of just dismiss it and figure they just sucking up because they want something. Dancers are that way you know.
But then other people like my neighbor are saying the same thing and they don’t seem to need anything from me. The problem is I weigh about the same… So I was checking myself out in the mirror and it looks like my arms are bigger and that doesn’t seem right. I mean a SW engineer with cycling as a hobby shouldn’t have big arms, but I can’t reach around my bicep and touch my thumb and finger. In fact there is a huge gap. Also, my cycling jerseys are all too tight in the arms and too loose in the waist. I’m suspecting this is from working out at this place called a “gym” with these things called “weights.” It’s all very strange and new to me.
Now I know my cycling buddies have NO EXPERIENCE with this phenomena, but how is this going to affect my performance?? How will this affect my daily life. What if somebody fails to recognize me as a cyclist/SW engineer by my pencil thin arms?? I don’t seem to be any slower, in fact, I might be a bit faster…
Anyway, I knew the triathletes would know what to do since I see them out all the time in sleeveless jerseys with huge arms.
Immediately stop going to that or any other “gym.” Try not to lift anything heavier than a calculator. Then start training for a marathon. Do as much running as you can without getting hurt. Swimming and cycling are okay too.
There is a very serious side-effect you need to be aware of that could jeopardize your well-being.
Women will start to notice you. They will look you in the face and their glance will linger and then they’ll smile.
Some of them will even initiate small-talk with you. Take this as a warning and RUN!

No worries about that… he said he’s a software engineer. Small talk with a woman? HA!
p.s. I’m a storage engineer (mostly hardware) so I’m allowed…
