Say I know this guy (and gal)…they have been “together” for about 21ish years…bit more really. So, these folks have children and have lived a very nice life together. One day, they were in the court house and they got a wild hair up their collective rears and decided to get hitched by a judge.
What I ask you do you get a person as a gift for their wedding? There is nothing Tri/Cycling specific in the world that they need…but alas are both rings in the tree of the Triathlon life.
The gift has to be something that is not found in a Tri store, but still fitting a person in the Tri lifestyle. I like the massage idea…but not sure the man in the couple would even go.
Get two P4 frames, cut the front end off one of them, the back end off the other one, and make a P4 tandem by gluing them together with some epoxy or something. Add a deep front wheel, a disk rear, and a pair of powercranks, and it’s the best tri-related wedding gift ever.

Serious folks…ideas?
If they’ve been active in tris, cycling etc, there must be several dozen photos of each competing laying around. See if you can snag a copy of one of each of them at a really cool finish or something. Blow them up to a decent size (Pixel density permitting), and have them matted and mounted in the same frame. The whole “two become one” kind of thing.
On a serious side, try to figure out their favorite “romantic” resturant and meals that they eat their. Book a date and tell them that you want to take them to dinner. Go to the resturuant and speak the manager and let them know what you are doing for your friends and that you would like preorder and pay for everything. Have some flowers sent their before hand with a card and have it on the table. Then don’t show up for dinner (of course letting the manager know that is the plan and that he should sit them right away.
I did this for my brother and his wife and it worked out great - granted expensive.
I was thinking something along these lines. A dinner out or something like a 4 month farm co-op membership. If they are athletes they probably like to eat well.
