I stupidly stripped the adjustment screw on my brake lever and now need to replace it. Magura doesn’t make these brakes anymore and the LBS says this is the only solution. I have a Cervelo P3 and the mechanic is saying that unless I can find a replacement that there is nothing he can do, i.e. there are no other brakes that can be put on the bike. I’m not sure if this is true or not?
Any brake can go on there, you would just need to swap both lever and caliper. Replacement parts for those brakes are near impossible to find unfortunately.
That’s what I thought. For some reason, the mechanic said that he can’t put another brake set on there and the bike was basically only “good for an ornament”, his words. That makes no sense to me.
I may be able to get levers. I gave a set to my buddy that has a bike fit shop/repair company. I would highly suggest swapping them out. Message me if interested. There would be a cost associated with the levers.
Thanks for the replies. After going back to the bike shop and talking to the mechanic, he was confused. I just decided to replace the rear brakes with a different type of brake.
Hey there, I’d be interested in those levers if they’re available?
Thanks!
What type of brake did you end up replacing it with?
