Need help with my wahoo connection

I just recently acquired a kickr from a friend.
Now i have a windows computer and ant usb +1. So far i can see my power when i pedal but it doesnt change the reisitance in my kickr automatically when TR changes the watts.
A friend suggested to get a bluetooth 4 dongle. Would that make my computer bluetooth capable? I checked around here and it seems everybody has a MAc.

New ipad is the last option!!! Ty

Support@trainerroad.com would help and are very responsive. There’s also a TR thread here that they monitor and contribute on.

Check and make sure TR is set to ERG mode. There’s a pull down menu option in the lower left of the screen above the ride statistics. I believe they recommend a spin down test at first but that requires a Bluetooth enabled device to run the Wahoo app. Maybe you can borrow an iPhone or iPad. Only takes a few minutes. I’ve used a Win laptop on ANT with the Kickr and no issues. And yes the BT dongle would BT enable your laptop. Just get the one that TR supports.

X2 on checking that TR is set to Erg mode.
I run Win laptop with garmin ant+ stick with no problems.

Look where you pair the kickr in TR and the tab should be set to ERG is it?

I had the same problem, but with bluetooth. If you are using a lot of wireless devices on the 2.4GHz band, then you may have signal interference. For one, you may want to try switching your wifi modem to broadcast over the 5GHz channel. Also simply moving the Kickr closer to the ant+ stick may make a huge difference. That’s how I solved my problem.

Don’t know if it’s the right soln., but YES a Bluetooth 4 (also called Bluetooth Smart and BTLE) dongle will make the computer Bluetooth 4 capable.
