Need help with cycling skinsuit recommendation

Looking for a new short sleeve skinsuit. I’ve been considering Pearl Izumis new Black Pursuit Race Suit and Castellis Sanremo 3.2. Anyone have any real world experience with either? Any info on sizing would be useful too. I’m 6’1", 172lb, 31" waist 33" inseam and a bit of a muscular upper body as cyclists go. Sanremo gets great reviews but the PI is so new no reviews are available. Thanks.

The San Remo is not so much a skinsuit as a jersey and top that are sewn together. Very practical for road racing but probably not you top aero choice. I also have no idea why you would want a short sleeve skinsuit. If they have pockets on the back, then they work well for crits and road races, but you are giving up some aero. If you must do short sleeve, than the Specialized skinsuit is probably pretty good or see what NoPinz has.

Now if you just want fast, the Body Paint 3.3 and the NoPinz trip suits tend to work well on most people.

Maybe skinsuit isn’t the appropriate name for what I’m looking for. I’m aware of the Jersey being sewn into the bib and pockets. I had an old Garmin Chipotle Slipstream long sleeve true skinsuit. I used it for our local bi-monthly TT. The zipper recently jammed and subsequently broke. It was also very hot. Probably because it was likely 100% lycra or similar. Want to replace it and be able to use it on the occasional fast roadie ride too. And have something that breathes better.

If you want to use it for a fast road ride as well you probably want pockets and short sleeve, but not Lycra. These requirements make for less than stellar aero properties. I think anything you do will be a compromise.

My suggestion would be a San Reno and a BP 3.3. Use the BP for TTs and the San Remo for fast road rides. There is/was a BP 3.0 in the classifieds for 180.
