Dumonde Tech is a company that specializes in high performance lubes for motorcycles, snowmobiles, and similar applications. They make a number of different products, and one of them just happens to be a really good chain lube for bicycles.
I started using their lube many, many years ago when the owner of the company walked into the store I was working at and asked if we wanted to try out his stuff - “well, we make this lube for motorcycles, and it’s the best there is for that. I think it might just work on bikes, too. Let me know what you think…”
I actually think we were the first shop to carry their product(s.)
DT is located in the NorthWest, and perhaps because of this offers just about the only lube available that really, truly works well in awful mud and super wet conditions.
They make three bicycle products. Dumonde Tech, Dumonde Tech Lite, and Liquid grease. The Dumonde tech and lite are the same product, but one has a higher viscosity. The liquid grease is fantastic for lubing pawl seats and free hub bodies/bearings, and other applications where standard grease can sometimes cause too much drag. It is also really, really great as a chain lube in full on wrath-of-god mud and crap type conditions.
