working on my first build…when i get to the front brake, the sleeve bolt (the one that is inserted into the back of the fork) is too short too reach the threads from the caliper. the frame is a trek equinox 9. i’m guessing i need a longer sleeve bolt but i’m not sure what size i need or where to get the size i need?
your local bike shop should have a longer sleeve bolt, each fork is a little different and takes a different size bolt, also make sure that your other brake caliber doesnt have a longer threaded piece, sometimes the shorter one will use the small sleeve and fit on the rear brake.
Should cost no more than a dollar, or they might swap them out for you. Good luck.
