I recently bought a 2008 Transition Pro frameset and I think I am missing a part related to securing the seatpost in the frame. I noticed when I took out the frame a silver seat collar was fixed to the frame, however when I put the seat post in there was a wedge type gap (in the seatpost opening towards the top tube) and nothing to secure the seatpost to the frame. What is missing or needed. Anyone have photos of this area on an 08 Pro frame I could see to better understand how the seatposts are secured in the frame???
The alan bolt goes down into a gold metal peice that wedges the seat post to the frame. If no one posts pics by tomorrow i will after my ride.

I assume through your LBS, I am not sure why its not there to begin with. Does your seat post slide all the way in and rest on the curve? if so, then the alan bolt and the sliver piece may hold it but you still probably want the entire system.

In the event the shop doesn’t send it I would just call Specialized, they are very helpful. I bought a new 08 pro on Ebay and it was missing the part that holds the wire under the bottom bracket for the rear brake. The seller wasn’t reply and I though I was SOL, I called Specialized customer service and they sent me one overnight, no charge… I was impressed!
Thanks…that piece was missing as well. The bike shop said they had a second package that inlcuded a few pieces they forgot to include, so hopefully it will all be there when it arrives.
