Last Sunday I DNF’d at the Big Kahuna due to a flat and stupidity at mile 8 on the bike. Since my first 1/2 IM was the Florida 1/2 in May, I was hoping to see some major improvements. This Saturday is the 1/2 Caliman, which is an obscene $225. My gf already had plans for the day of the 1/2 Caliman and wants to be there to cheer me on during the race but can’t. Additionaly, I’m going to race right by her side on Sunday at a Tri-for-real (her first race). Should I compete in the 1/2 Caliman to rekindle the moment of last weekend (minus the flat)? Or should I spend it with the GF and finish off the year with Sentinel and Treasure Island?
I know what I’d do (spend the time with the GF), but that’s just me.
Spending the day with the GF has my vote.
Spend $80 on a nice dinner with GF.
Spend $80 on some tougher tires.
Send me $65 for the advice.
$225 well spent.
You’ve got two good races coming up. I’d focus on those two.

"Or should I spend it with the GF "
Depends how badly you want to keep her.

lol!! exactly!
Ok, ok, enough guilt I’ll spend it with the gf!!! Thanks.
Let’s see…
Cost of race entry - $225
New tire - $60
Keeping girl friend happy - hard to say
Finding replacement girl friend - Priceless
