i want to move away from solid food during racing so i was wondering what everyone is using as a high calorie drink … looking for options other than perpetuem …thanks!
a couple of Hammer gel flasks and water and whatever they give out on course.
I used perpetuem last year and can understand why you don’t want to use it, even though it works. This year I’ve been using Sustained energy and HEED. I use 1.5 scoops of each per bottle. That gives me about 300 cals and what seems to be the right dose of electrolytes for me.

Extran Calorie Replacement (the green container) is supposed to be good. It is carbs only.
You can also take something that you like the taste of and add CarboPro or Sustained Energy to it as neither of them has any flavor. CarboPro is carbs only, Sustained Energy is carbs+protein. I prefer carb-only drinks, but some people do better with the added protein.
