Need feedback on Madison hotel(s)

So, I was confirming my hotel for Madison (Comfort Suites Madison West) a couple days ago and the hotel could only find one of the two rooms I reserved using the online system. So I panicked and searched around and found another hotel; I found one that could accomodate me and my family for less $$ so I reserved that (Best Western West Towne Suites). Then the first hotel called back to let me know they found my reservation. So now I have rooms reserved at both hotels and want to get things squared away (in case of other folks like me searching last minute).

Has anyone had any experience at either of these hotels? Just looking for a quiet, clean one.

Is that the Comfort Suites in Middleton? If so, I stayed there last year. Nice, quiet, friendly hotel. They had no concerns with me bringing my bike to my room. Easy walk to restaurants and a tri shop. Easy 10-15 minute drive to the race. Hotel was filled with triathletes and parents of students for the UW football game. Either way, we were all in bed early and no loud partying. I would stay there again. Never been to the other hotel.

Thanks so much! appreciate your feedback!

Now, has anyone stayed at Best Western West Towne Suites???.. for me it would be more economical to stay here, but not sure about what to expect.

I have never been there, but I would imagine anything on the West side and that far away from downtown is quiet and pretty nice. It’s a fairly affluent area. Not sure if this helps or not.

Funny enough!!! Scratch my last message-I have been there. Went to their website and remembered I had been there two years ago. It is right off the Beltline across from West Town Mall. Nice place. Not much around it, but if you are just looking for a place to stay. Don’t expect to do much walking anywhere though. The roads are pretty busy in that neighborhood.

Thanks!

I just want to make sure I can have a quiet clean place to stay before the race. From the sounds of it, both hotels are nice. I have been in situations before where the web garantees you certain standards and the hotel ends up being a dump.

Appreciate the feedback!

The West Town Suites is fine. Not posh AT ALL - but fine. It is closer to the race by about 5 minutes or less on the highway. It is close to restaurants, mall, etc. If you know where you are going, you could even get out for a ride. It is not a bad place. I would stay there, and i am pretty picky.

I actually lived there for a couple weeks (w/ wife, 2 dogs and 2 cats) when I first moved here b/c my house closing was delayed. They would not care about your bike.

how about the “smoke”. I notice the accomodate both smokers and non-smokers. did you notice if there was any “smoky smell” to the place?. I am really not that picky (In CO, barely any hotels allow smoking) other than smoking…I can live with noise and even not the cleanliest, but the smell of smoke makes me sick.

Regardless, I am pleased with the feedback and online research and consider myself very fortunate to have such accomodations available so close to the race.

thanks everyone for your feedback
