Need advice

I need someone to tell what the best bike is for me.

Back in '99 I was fitted for my first tri bike. A local shop sold me a 650c wheeled Tequilo. I rode it alot the first year and felt fast on it but not overly comfortable. It felt a bit small. I then didn’t ride much for a couple of years and last year decided to get back into riding. Decided that the 650c wheels were a problem, and that to be comfortable I need 700c wheels and a Softride. So I bought a Roadwing frame, stripped the Tequilo, and setup the bike in a Slam position. After riding the Softride for awhile, and reading this site, I decided the Slam position wasn’t for me ( lower leg longer then upper leg ), I converted the Softride to a steep position. Well, I’m not completely satisfied with this setup either! I feel slow. But that could just be age and lack of fitness :frowning:

So my questions are:

Should I forget about the Tequilo and concentrate on getting a good fit on the Softride?
Do I bring back the Tequilo for tri’s and use the Roadwing for group rides, centuries, etc?
Should I take both frames to a fitter and let them decide what’s best?
Is a 650c wheeled bike really too small for me?
Do I need therapy?

BTW. I’m 6’2" and about 200lbs, 40yrs old, and a middle of the packer.

Take 'em both to a good fitter and talk about what you want to accomplish. A good bikefit person will listen to not only what you want to accomplish, but also what you’ve done to try and get there already. (s)he will then be able to make recommendations on how best to achieve your goals based on your current fitness and flexibility.

Look for Dan’s list of FIST certified shops and if there isn’t one in your area, post. Someone here likely knows of a good fitter close to you.
