Need a new trainer

Looking for a new trainer…not enough cabbage for Computrainer…

Looking at one of the TACX models? Who’s got one???

Don’t own one and never owned a Compu…but did get a chance to ride the TACX at a recent bike show (had a bike set up for show goers to test ride)…very well done. Not sure how the two compare (everything is all apples and oranges anyway) but I was impressed.

I live in the cold north and don’t want to even think about bike trainers. It’s the end of Feb and I am going to ride outside come snow or cold weather. I am sick of trainers !! I don’t know how anyone can ride them all year. The same for tredmills. I will ride a trainer when you pry my cold dead fingers off my aro bars !! And you might just have to do that it’s still cold out.
Good luck finding a trainer Dirtball

I purchased a Tacx flow about a month ago ($400). It is a really nice trainer that shows watts, speed and cadence. My wife took over the computrainer and I just didn’t have the money to purchase another one.

Computrainer you can go up to 1500 watts, the Tacx you can go up to 900 watts. IMO the Tacx wattage seems to be less than the Computrainers given the same wattage reading. The taxc comes with a really nice quick release (Something I personnaly like). With the computrainer you get some really nice software, but if you just like watching TV and don’t have the money, the Taxc trainer is a good option.

IMO by far the best none electric trainer is probably the Kurt Kinetic trainer. It has a really heavy fly wheel that gives really good road feel for a trainer that is.
