Need a (new) coach - NorCal or?

Hey STers,
I’m hoping that you can give me suggestions. My coach of several years has had to leave the business for personal reasons. We had a great rapport - I’ve been a bit spoiled, in fact, since we’ve become more friends than anything. So now I’m looking around and realize I don’t know where to look.
I’d prefer another local (Northern CA: East Bay / Sac areas) coach or, if that doens’t work out, someone on-line that comes with a good vibe (yeah, I know, that’s vague). Some details: my goal races are IM, though I also do a few HIM and some other things here-and-there as training; have a tendency to “train myself into a hole”, hence the coach; prefer to actually know the human being and not get boiler-plate plans.
Thanks in advance for any help you can send out!

You can check my training partner in Santa Cruz. His business is based on establishing a personal and individual coaching relationship and he has experience coaching IM athletes.

I was coached by John Hansen and the group at AthletiCamps for 4 years. It’s the group of exercise physiologists from UC Davis that work closely with Max Testa, Eric Heiden and others. Give them a call and chat to find out more. John’s more of their tri coach and can be reached at jhansen@athleticamps.com

I second Cathy’s rec. of Dave Latourette. He’s up in Sonoma County and knows his stuff for half and full ironman distance races. His website is www.traintoendure.com. Check out his blog - lately he’s been describing his return to racing a bit after a multi-year layoff with a knee injury and associated health issues. He did a 10:10 at arizona this year with minimal (but consistent!) training. impressive stuff, and an interesting read.

Thanks for the leads guys - much appreciated
