Need a little help, please

The cold cap is crazy cold and not worth it in order to maybe save the hair on your head.

The cold mittens and booties are a good idea to help prevent neuropathy.

She has decided on a wig, the cap isn’t worth it. She will still keep the mittens and booties. Thanks.

My wife just shaved her head and went with the bald look.

We briefly talked about it and it was a no go.

I am sorry you are dealing with this in your daughter..one of a parent’s worst fears. My only contribution can be that I have two close friends who have beaten breast cancer. I wish your daughter the best possible outcome..cancer free.

Damn, l can’t imagine what this is like, but good to hear that your family is hanging on.

Not sure how old your daughter is, but l hope her youth will prove to be to her advantage in this war.

Hang in there.

IDK how long there is between chemo treatments and stuff but how is everyone in your family doing?

Hello Dr, and thank you. My daughter had her 2nd chemo last Monday and her best friend went out and stayed with her until Wednesday and I went Thursday through Sunday. Chemo happens every 3 weeks. My wife is going out on the 28th and will be there for the 3rd session on the 30th.

My daughter did decide to let her hair fall out and she had a wig designed for her. She’ll end up shaving her head when my wife goes out.

Overall, she’s doing ok. The 6-8 days are the worst for some reason and she’s trying to keep moving in the off weeks. A lot of aches and pains. Almost forgot, she got a port for the chemo and a 1 hour operation took 2 because they couldn’t get it in correctly on the left so had to put it on the right.

It was hard leaving her on Sunday to come home, I’ll be going back in April for her 4th chemo session. I tear up every once in a while, but overall I and the family are doing pretty well.

Thank you again.

Thanks for update. We’re here for you. It’s definitely a process.
My nephew had testicular cancer several years ago. Chemo sucked, and he lost all hair, but it has grown back beautifully.

hugs your way. I wish I had something better to say.

How is your family?

I was going to post Monday. We’re all doing ok, thank you for asking.

My daughter went through her 4th session of chemo and gets an ultrasound this week to see if the chemo is working. I’m in California with her for two weeks to help out however I can. Were fortunate to be able to come out as often as we can to support her.

Watching her get the chemo last Monday was tough. It’s hard to watch your kid go through this, but you’ve got to do what you’ve got to do. She has two more sessions to go, provided the ultrasound doesn’t show anything unusual.

Two months until chemo is over and then surgery. As I said, it’s the little things, one step at a time.

Just got great news from my daughter. She has had 4 chemo sessions and today got an ultrasound to see if it was doing anything to the tumor and they couldn’t find it. It has shrunk where it is not noticeable now by ultrasound.

This means she will only have 2 more chemo treatments, they will go in and remove cells where the tumor was to ensure they get all of the cancerous cells, and then radiation. The prognosis is looking very good.

It’s not over yet, but you can’t believe the relief from this terrified dad.
