Need a fitter...Madison, WI-Chicago, IL

Need recommendations for a good tri fit. I would be willing to travel between Madison, WI and Chicago, IL

I have previously been fitted on two different bikes by Brent Emery with mixed reviews. Just looking for a different experience from what I have received there.

cronometro in Madison
.

+1 on Chronometro. Colin and team are great. They’re a small/boutique shop and will undoubtedly provide great customer service.

I’ve never been fit by Brent but he is pretty highly regarded. Just wondering what issues you’ve had as I was actually thinking of going to him before spring

I will send you a PM
.

It seems here in Madison there are a number of options, from Retul to Guru to old school. I have only had experience with one, and I would not recommend them. Many seem to have their “cliquish” followers, but without actual experience I can’t recommend any. I can try and find some positive reviews if you’d like. I think much of what is marketed today is pretty much voodoo of sorts to make themselves some money, much like some of the coaching, nutritional and fitness fads that come and go. You really have to listen to your body and what it tells you. I’ve had probably 10 fits, and I think the best results were when I focused on my body and how it felt and reacted.

Karrie at Lucky Brake Bikes in Crystal Lake is amazing. BG Fit certified and the best in the area.

If you are willing to travel then I can recommend Albertos Cycles in Highland Park - Brendon is the owner and is wonderful fitter both road and tri. Hope this helps

Are you in Kenosha area? I have a guy  He fit me pretty perfectly, fairly cheaply. He’s been around for years. Art Hicks. I think he runs the KR bike club.

Alternatively, there’s a Guru fit in Libertyville? Or maybe it’s Highland Park

John Huenink of Brookfield, WI Wheel & Sprocket is well-regarded.

SBR Coaching in Verona, WI does Guru fitting and one of their coaches just got back from a F.I.S.T workshop. I have no personal experience, but this is where I’ll go when the time comes.
