The old timers will know Ned Overend. Before he shifted to mountain biking he was an outstanding triathlete. He won the world championship in mountain biking. In his 40s he went back to triathlon and won two Xterra championships. He probably could have been an Ironman world champ if he had stayed with triathlon in his younger days. This past weekend he came 2nd overall at the very competitive 67 mile Belgian Waffle wafer race in Phoenix. At age 70!!!

The legend continues. Ned Overend and Jon Tomac are 2 of my true heroes from my early days of mountain biking, its its awesome see them still mixing it. It gives me and my 46 year old carcass hope yet.
Whenever somebody mentions gravel bikes, I remind them that these guys a were riding drop bars and disc wheels well before the invention of handlebar moustaches.
