Even though its no where close to live I found it interesting that Fox Sports NW is showing the Nautica Triathlon. It was kind of nice to see someone other than Universal and NBC showing triathlon stuff. I’m quite surprised that we don’t see more triathlons on Versus. I also want to say that watching an Olympic Distance Triathlon where there is no drafting also makes for better television than ITU type racing. This was a very good race for TV with Macca having to chase down Lieto and was much more fun to watch than the ITU on Universal where they all get off the bike at the same time.
I’m pretty sure the Nautica series has been broadcasted on Fox Sports for a few years now, which has been cool, especially cus Macca has done this race series alot (Macca and Leito are my 2 fav pro’s). Both the Malibu and Miami races have gotten coverage on Fox Sports. So thats been cool, the odd thing about is, I just tuned in and started watching at halfway through the broadcast. You’ll never really get a heads up unless you actually visit the website and check the schedule. Sucks but it is what it is.
Also, as of last fall, I knew that Versus did 1 hour recaps of some of the big IM races. Although it was only a few, it atleast was cool to see.
