We just got a ton of rain in a very short period. Run-off.
I’m looking out my window at the Hilton now. It’s pouring. I want the swim to be as challenging as possible without it being cancelled.
(I’ll take any edge I can get.)
The runoff might wash away some of the raw sewage. Seriously, turds float down that river…basically it’s a river of poo and fish kill. Looks nice from far away though.
Looks like everyone should swim with their mouths closed then. Zip it lock then put it in your tri - pocket :0)
From what I heard around 7:30 or so, the swim is on for Nations. Current water temps are in the low/mid-80s, so unless the temperature drops big time overnight, I would leave my wetsuit at home.
My personal concern is less the water quality than it is the pools of standing water on the bike course. Nothing like hitting a submerged pothole at race pace …
Good luck to all who are racing tomorrow. I’ll see you at the finish line.
