NAS / WTC in Competition, Revisited

So, do you think WTC will do just as good of a job as NAS? In my mind, it can’t be good that NAS has to have the memo on their homepage:

Those looking for information on the new Ironman event in Kentucky should call the World Triathlon Corporation at 727-942-4767 or log onto www.ironman.com/louisville. North America Sports is not affiliated with the event in Kentucky.

Considering the amount of Iron rookies thinking NAS is IM, people are going to be confused. And, when I go to the WTC link, I can’t help but feel like the race’s identity is missing.

Can the organizations co-exist in the North American Ironman market?

Any info out there what is going on here?
Why would WTC step in directly?
Did NAS screw up with the locals?
Is NAS going down?

Sounds strange at best.

It’s just a re-direct. Nothing more nothing less. I am sure that NAS wanted people to get quickly and directly to the information pages for IM Kentucky.

The unofficial word on the street has NAS taking over IMLOU next year.

If true, perhaps a truce is in the balance with NAS doing what they do best (running races) and WTC doing the same (sponsorships, branding, etc).
