Nancy Pelosi is a freakin genius!

Yesterday Nancy Pelosi gave the GOP a masterclass in politics; she put them over her lap and spanked them like the petulant unruly children that they are. Eric Cantor, you sir are a boob.

I’m calling out Eric because his stupid mug seems to be on my TV more than most and he was one of 85 GOP members of congress who yesterday voted for the BIGGEST INCOME TAX RATE INCREASE IN US HISTORY! these are the people who have been telling us that going from 35% to 39% amounts to socialism run amok, yet yesterday they voted for a 90% tax!!!

I can’t wait until they have to explain that one at the next elextion.

Pelosi knows this tax is unconstitutional and will go nowhere, but she’s having a great time watching Cantor et al dance on the end of her string.

Politics is a great spectator sport.

Oh, I see. You didn’t put the thread headline in pink, because it’s not possible, right? Certainly that’s the case, right?

Your post describes, perfectly, what is wrong with Congress and most politics today: It is less and less about leadership, and more about scoring “points” on your opposition. I find it disheartening in the extreme that with all of the things going on today, the Speaker of the House decides that its OK to waste time in order to make Republicans look bad for the 2010 elections. Bravo, you must be so proud.

I will stipulate that the Republicans are just as guilty of this sort of behavior…I am equally disgusted with both parties on this point.

I’ve always suspected that someone’s perception of what constitutes “genius” was relative to their own intelligence.

Your post seems to confirm that.

FWIW, the 85 Republicans who voted for the tax should be taken to the woodshed. Kudos to the 6 Democrats with more moral courage than those Republicans.

Me too. Remember the ads in 2004 declaring the number of times Kerry voted for tax increases and against the military? Even when he voted the position that Cheney wanted him to as SecDef, it was counted against Kerry. Now, the Dems are playing to same stupid game. I was actually being sarcastic a month or so when I suggested the Dems do this. Maybe they didn’t catch the sarcasm.

I’m offended!

Nancy Pelosi has been accused of a lot of things. But I’ve never heard anyone go so low as calling her a freaking genius! She has dedicated her life to, and has a long track record of being stupid. And for you to try and take all this incompetence away from her is borderline libel.

It’s definitely time for a change. You can’t trust Congress to do the right thing nor can you trust the American people. That puts us in quite a quandary.

Matt - you give Pelosi way too much credit. Granted, she is slightly smarter than Barbara Boxer, but that’s like arguing that an 85 IQ is higher than an 84 IQ. I feel very sorry for the folks in her district, they deserve better than Pelosi.

If Pelosi knows this tax is unconstitutional she’s no genius she’s a criminal and has just broken her oath of office.

I, Nancy Pelosi, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic;

I for the sake of the US and the constitution hope you are wrong and that she truly believe this is the right thing and is not willfully violating her oath.

Sue her.

I don’t believe that suing her is the punishment for breaking your oath of office is it? Besides aren’t you an attorney? You know how hard it is to prove “intent”.
