We had to say good bye to our Sweet Bella yesterday afternoon. Just one week ago she was the picture of health, then suddenly contracted a bladder and kidney infection that went septic yesterday. She was part of our family for 11 years, a great 11 years. Give your furry loved ones an extra hug today. You just never know how long they’ll be there.
Now, that looks like a dog you could roll around in the grass with while she licked your face up and down. Hate to hear her days are done. My heart goes out to you and your family. Consider getting another sooner rather than later.
We are about to go through the same departure with our little buddy that is 13 years old. That will be a tough day for our family.
Losing a dog always sucks so hard. Sorry you have to go through it.
My thoughts exactly.
We put down a dog ~8yrs ago. First dog that was “mine”, not my father’s. Me and that dog were tight. When we put her down at the vets, I cried like a school girl. Took a couple years before I could get another dog. That was a mistake. Go out and get a puppy this week. Darn things are so adorable it’ll win your heart in seconds.
And I’ll put a plug in for the local shelter for the next dog, whenever that right time is. There’s an old lady that comes in to the shelter where I volunteer and only adopts senior dogs as she wants those dogs to spend their ‘golden years’ in a home and not a shelter. God bless her heart.

Rescue dogs is how we roll. Bella came from a no-kill shelter in Denver (Max Fund), our last pup came from Denver Dumb Friends League. We love us some mutts. I’m sure we’ll have a another pup scampering about by Christmas.
