How about having her mailing a batch out to the loyal St’ers.
If you can ensure delivery before the first Triple T race Friday I’ll take a 12 pack and get the promotions going on the East coast for you…just deliver to the transition area and look for the guy with the magical fire sunnies.

You HAVE to send a pic of the magic fire glasses! I’ll tell Vicki (my wife) that the ST crowd is clamoring for her bars. Maybe we should go on “Shark Tank” like that couple that made Element Bars. Ha, ha.
Hey Jay,
Yummy looking bar. I have a question for you. Where do you do your lap swimming there in San Clemente? I will be moving up that way in a couple weeks to be close to my fav surf spot, Churches!
I see Saddleback has a masters program and of course they have up in Mission Viejo.
Thanks,
G
Hey George,
No hijacking our energy bar marketing thread!
I have a heated neighborhood pool 50 steps from my front door. I do ALL my swimming there. Pretty sure Ole Hanson pool right here in town has a Master’s program.
Current south swell getting small now. Just surfed Upper’s this morning…maybe waist to shoulder high.
I did start off with “YUMMY LOOKIN BAR”
Thanks for the info. I will be living right up the road from Pedro’s Tacos in the presedential heights area…have a pool available, but i prefer a 50 m pool!
I was at Doheney a couple weeks ago, pretty nice and it didnt smell like a septic tank…
Ha, ha. We go to Doho a lot in summer with our kids. Great place to take them surfing…in summer when the creek’s not flowing out full bore.
No 50M pools in San Clemente unfortunately, though eventually there will be one at the Vista Hermosa/La Pata Sports Complex if that ever gets built. Ole Hanson is 25M. My community pool is 25 yards, so lots of turning back and forth for me, but can’t beat the convenience and I usually have it to myself, especially in winter.
Yep, doho is great for the the boy and my boards, he is learning the true art of surfing, LONGBOARD…i should probaly get him one of those longboard sponges!
We can help you there. I ride a 9’ Swizzle (Tom Morey design). It’s a soft board, but shaped like a hardboard and thin and stiff! Best softboard I’ve ever ridden!
sounds cool, whats the price for one of those?
Your experience with home made bars sounds a lot like what started Mulebar’s business.
How do we know they’re good? You eat everything ![]()
Just kidding, they look good.
X2, give me one!

Great point TC! Just yesterday, I ate two Zingers after lunch…the vanilla ones. So, you know these things have to be tasty if I like 'em. I’m not usually into all the health food ingredients that she combined, but these things are really tasty!
Okay, my wife gave up her recipe. Here it is:
Vicki’s Almond Cranberry Energy Bars
Approx measurements:
2 cups of raw almonds
1 cup of raisins or dates
1 cup of cranberries
1/2 cup almond butter
1//2 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup wheat germ
1/4 cup of flax seed
2 tablespoons of honey
Extra cranberries
Blend raw almonds, raisins/dates and cranberries together in blender (might want to do a couple of batches as to not clog blender).
In a saucepan - combine butters and honey and wheat germ until slightly melted and thinner. Poor this mixture over the blended almonds and fruit to incorporate all together. I get my hands in it to really give it a good squishy mixin’! Then I add some more cranberries for a more chunky taste. Form the mixture into balls or bars. Wrap them in plastic wrap or put them in those little snack ziplocks. They are delish!
I figured out that it makes about 15 bars and I tallied up nutrition info to be approx:
Per bar:
Calories - 240g
Protein - 6g
Carbs - 26g
Fat - 13g
Next time I think I am going to just use dates instead of raisins in the blender, and also may add some protein powder. Then put the raisins in at the end for some chunk. I may also experiment with dried apricots and blueberries, or even the dark chocolate almonds from Trader Joes would be yummy! The possibilities are endless!
Neat, you don’t even need to bake them?
I will totally be trying this now that I’m home from school. Thank Vicki!
=DDDDD
No baking. She just globs them together. I had another one as an afternoon snack here at the office.
NICE. Cutting the oven makes these even more convenient. ohmigosh I can’t wait =D Thank you too!
Yummy,
May give this a go, but Almond Butter may be replaced by Nutella - I’m addicted!
