My wife and I did a triathlon here in Houston-her first.
Her swim pace was 12 seconds faster than her usual per 100M. She has average 16/17MPH on training rides and posted a 20MPH bike split. Then she smoked the run at 30 seconds per mile faster than normal.
Pretty good if you ask me! She is now officially a triathlete!
She got second in her AG at her first tri. Now for a longer course.
Hey James, was that TRI on Sunday out North of Katy? Wife and I got a late start on the KFC Sunday (mechanical) and noticed that Peek Road was closed to traffic at FM 529 and there was also a traffic cone with a person waving a flag as lots of bike riders were making a U-turn like in a time trial - was that the triathlon you two competed in? Oh, and yes we did end up getting very wet after mile 60 of the KFC but the tail wind comming back was pretty good!
Was wondering if any of the KFCers got hammered by the rain. It loked nasty when I was leaving KT.
Anyone who was still out on the road after 10:00 am got wet! The initial bit of rain was not that bad depending on where you where on the 100-mile course but the 30-mph gusts of wind from the approach of the storm, that was bad!
