My wife, I think she's trying to get rid of me

“I don’t understand you. You’ll ride all day long, maybe 100 miles, and wind up in the same place you started. For heaven’s sake, go somewhere! Finish somewhere other than where you started.”

I usually start from the house.

That. Is awesome!

I think next time I’ll call her from a strip club near Philadelphia. Honey, I did what you said. Can you pick me up?

that’s hilarious; it’s safe to say you’re on her nerves. lol.

i don’t get on my husband’s nerves too much (lol), but to get rid of me he’ll say, “honey, you have an ironman coming up, don’t you need to go swim or something?” then i respond, “yes, but i just got back from 8 hours of training!”

Well thats it…she is dropped!! If she can not appreciate you arriving home safe then let her go!! End of story!!

Oh you better believe it. She’s never far from a reminder that when I really needed her (pic below), she was at the faimly summer home in Maine.

dang, what happened???

you’re lucky to be alive man!

Oh, about 5 years ago. Flying down a hill on a 2 lane each way road in the right lane. Car coming the other direction turned to make a left across my direction of travel, didn’t see me, I slammed into the passenger door at approximately 30mph. Not fun at all, but made the traffic report that day! I don’t remember a thing other than saying “oh shi” till I came to lying in the middle of the road, having flown 2 lanes over from where I was. That frame was less than a week old, but in hindsight I’m glad it was trashed because it was replaced with a vastly superior Calfee.

whew, that’s insane!

i’m sure your wife was happy to have you around (at least for awhile:) after that!

did you have to pay for the new bike, or was any of it covered?

That accident not only paid for my bike, but my house, too.

What, you don’t run errands when you’re doing your long ride?

Tomorrow, I’m planning my ride to/from the bank, which is over an hour from my house. (OK, I admit, this is part of a plan to save money on gas…)

Reason #36 why I will never marry.
