My Tour de France Adventure - Stage 11 complete

While the pros get underway, they’ve got a lot of catching up to do to get me. My PED-free attempt at the Tour de France continues, Stage 11 is now in the bag. Unfortunately my crash at 37mph and collarbone fracture 3 days before the prologue has waylaid me a bit and I missed Stage 3, 8, and parts of 6 and 7 due to related injuries. But, I seem to be healing, got through the Alps and look forward to (also read ‘am dreading’) the Pyrenees. There’s no such thing as an easy day when there are just 4 of you riding the tour. Today, the flattest stage of the tour and only 115 miles should have been an easy effort and surely is for the peloton, but we suffered through 30+mph headwinds the entire way. What should have been a relaxing, easy day was a nearly 8 hour slog at a 11-13 mph hammer. Miserable!
