dam, he looks way outta shape…

I was expecting him to have a new giant tat on his back… AYHSMB

Wait a minute, the picture doesn’t show his back. Can you confirm?

I’ll be the first to predict a top-2 finish at Xterra Nationals. I’ll bet that Conrad Stoltz is going to be in the position of having to catch him on the run. GO CAVEMAN

Thank you for sharing this.

Regardless of what people believe about him, he is truly a remarkable athlete that excels at whatever he pursues.

spot on.

Cool…thanks for sharing. If his easy is 1:11, would this not translate to an IM swim substantially faster than 50?

I don’t know crap about swimming conversions, so 1:11 in a 25m pool translates to what in open water? 1:20, 1:30, 6 hours? #noidea

I’m guessing “easy” 1:11 SCM (1:04ish SCY) would put you comfortably under :50 for an IM swim depending on how hard you went after it. If I had to guess I would say 48:45-49:15 range.

Well, LA did swim a 49:12 at a 2.4 mile open water swim in Austin this past spring, just behind James Bonney, who went 48:50.

15x100 m on 1:40 isn’t the best swim set for a test as the rest is too long and the total swim time too short but…

1:10 pace per 100m is a 45 min 2.4 mile swim…now add a wetsuit and you’re 10% faster…

If he can swim 1:02 per 100m on hard repeats, he should be able to swim with almost anybody in a tri…but it’s the run where it’ll be decided…we know he can swim and bike well enough to be in contention.

Dave

Yup, he still has the Speedo from his early triathlon career. It is in fact making a comeback

There is no such thing as a “7 time Tour de France Champion”.

Hinault only won five times, like Merckx and Anquetile.

That’s your ignorant opionion. Keep it to yourself!

Always a troll trying to derail a peaceful thread about Lance with stupid comments.

I don’t understand insinuation. is he trying to say that Lance doped and so is not a winner of the tour de france? or is there some other cycling knowledge that I do not have?

(Or in fact that those other three didn’t!?)

Despite not being a fan - pretty cool story.

And FWIW those 100 times are a country mile faster than a 50 minute swim as others have stated - super bad.

It’s obvious he is insinuating Lance isn’t deserving of the 7 titles and thinks he didn’t earn them.

Good enough for a first pack swim? (excl Potts and other superswimmers). Probably ahead of Chris Lieto, right?

He didn’t. His ‘team’ did.

Well, you can rest assured that Merckx, Hinaut, and Anquetil all doped to the extent they could too. Anquetil even admitted it. Did they not deserve their titles?
