I used to run with Asics tri5 (yes the multicolored model), but they seems to be discontinued. I’m sure there is an equivalent model in the asics collection!!

I thought thr Tri 5 was also a racer, a Tri version of the DS Racer.
I’m 99% sure the Noosa Tri is based off of the DS Trainer, not the DS Racer.
The Noosa Tri 6 is the successor to the Noosa Tri 5. (and just as horrid looking)
They are mild stability shoes like the DS Trainer. (They are not lightweight, though, IMO…as they are heavier than the DS trainer.) I found them to be a wee bit wider in the toebox, maybe than the DS Trainer.

The upper is vented/more mesh on the Noosa, less areas for “hot spots” for barefoot folks, elastic laces (I believe they are NOT asymmetrical, like the DS trainers), memory foam in the heel collar. DS trainer is slip last; Noosa Tri is combination.
They aren’t the same shoe–but they are both lighterweight stability shoes.

The newer version of your shoe is the Noosa Tri 6 (you have the 5). The 7 is coming out this winter.
