Sophisticated found on the side of the road red tape apparatus. To hold on my camera to the head tube.

Where in NC? That red barn looks familiar.

.

Looks like the Asheville area! Hopefully he will post a photo of the Biltmore Estate to confirm

Beautiful! Thanks for the pics. Having moved away from Chapel Hill I still miss it very much. Cycling outside Chicago bites!

The first video sounds like the space shuttle taking off!

The red barn is off of Tobacco Branch Road, in Graham County. Hwy 28 Between Bryson City and Fontana.

Ah, cool. Not too far from Herbert and Chattanooga! Near the river I think. Did you head over towards the Cumberland Gap?

Beautiful area… I took a shot of this one west of Boone last summer:

It is about 2 hours from where Chattanooga is, but it is right next to US 129 the amazing stretch of road that has 318 turns in 11 miles. This road is a motorcycle and car fanatic mecca and is also known as the Tail of the Dragon or Deal’s Gap.

It is also a very nice area for mountain biking and a great long century (actually 112 miles) called the Cherohala Challenge goes through there.

Herbert

Ah - I’ve heard of the “Tail of the Dragon” stories from sports car owners, even when I lived in Connecticut! I knew it was somewhere near the Smoky mountains (but not quite there).
