My new TTX...Shwwweeeetttt

This is a 2008 TTX in a modified Project one scheme. The derailleurs and bar ends will be switched out for the SRAM TT stuff one of these days. THe aerobars will be trimmed after the fitting is completed. The race wheels are the Hed3 clinchers and the training wheels are the Bontrager Race XX lite Aeros. Paint scheme will be around this year only. Next year colors will be changed out. What do you think?

Nice bike! A few questions…

  1. How are those pads? They look uncomfortable…

  2. What’s the bike size? What’s your size? There doesn’t seem to be much drop…

  3. Why the water bottle covering?

Also, if you put on blue bontrager or michelin pro tires on that bike it’d look even sweeter.

Nice bike…

Do those cages hold your bottles behind the seat…they look like launch pads to me? I like the paint though.

its nice bike
only from aerodynamics i would close the hole on crank cost you lots of second now
and big pedal surface why no a flater pedal? its ore aerodymamic?
also wold try to find closed chainring for aerodynamics and would move you cat eye to place behind you stem you just in front of it
also would mve the sensor behind the vork not in front of it
would close the under side of the saddle since all those thing cost lot of time
also would level the handle bar about 1 or 2 degrees
as it not its catch lot of air

and so on…

To answer a few questions…

The pads are quite squishy and comfortable. Not bad at all longest being a four hour ride.
The frame is a size L.
The waterbotle covering is actually a holder for the CO2, levers, tube and crack pipe.
The bottle cages are the Carbon Race not the XXX race lite cages. Havent launched a bottle yet.
On the training tires they are blue Bontrager Race. The sensor will be moved this week, I am waiting to move the Cat Eye after the fitting is complete.

Nice. Did you inquire about having the bars, cages and seat mast painted to match the frame? I wonder if they could do that?

Perhaps Carl knows…

Now I wish that I would have had the project one done to my 9.9TTX. Also like the new aero base bar.

One question. Does the 2008 model have the new, wider bottom bracket?

what is the source of your ‘bottle-style’ holder of tools and such?

Actually I am going to get the Project one in Red/Black/Hight Polish Chrome at the end of this race season. That will tie the components all together then. When we put it together I didn’t want to wait for the parts to get “Project one’d”.

Next scheme I am working on right now…

It is coming out in the 2008 season from Bontrager. Works great!

i see. you must have an ‘inside’ source.

could you post a bigger photo of just that case?

any idea what it will be called?

any idea what the price will be?

thanks.

I can’t remember who makes it, but there’s something similar called the cage rocket that you can get now. I think I saw it at worldcycling.com.

Nice bike - the drivetrain will last a lot longer if you do not cross-gear as you have in this picture (sorry - it’s slowtwitch and I couldn’t find anything else wrong in the pic)!

I have no idea on how much they will be. I was mistaken, they are made by Trek and not Bontrager…

They’ve been on sale at Bike Barn in Houston for a while. Handy.

Individually…all great accessories…but an aesthaetic nightmare.

Far too many contrasting colours.

My .02 cents

thanks.

i like it, although i have a different idea for it’s use.

i will look for it. when will it be at the local bike shop?

They should be out any day now. I got mine as a last rev sample.

Cees,

How do you close up the underside of the saddle? Any pictures? Thanks,

mm

sadly no pics
but piece of carbon or glassfiber will do the trick
would not cost much too even make it a store room for tryes ( for a flat trye and co 2)
better aerodynamic and you have all this out of the way
hence if you it good even can make a water storage place for it

when i did double dutch tri i had something like this
again sadly no photo of it ( it so long ago)
