Yes it is Rich Nixons old frame. Taking it out for its maiden voyage with the new parts tomorrow.

Does that front brake work well? I’ve heard mixed reports on it.

I’ll let you know tomorrow. Havent tried it yet.

Just something to try…

Cut off your bento box bottom straps and replace them with the sticky style velcro pieces in between the bottom of the bag and the tube. Probably worth at least a watt.

Chris

Thanks for the tip, I need every watt I can get.

Nice bottle Sally :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
.

Wheres the neverreach bottle?

I regret having passed one of these up on ebay for less than $300 for frame and fork. I remember that there was something wrong with it, but I don’t think it was anything that couldn’t be fixed with elbow grease. They really look great just polished up without paint…do a little detail work on the welds and they would be really awesome.

Chris

That’s dead sexy. I’m also considering the OC front brake, so please post a report. Haven’t been able to find a review anywhere.

Took it out on sunday for the group ride. Front brake works great. Had a hard time staying with the group. I figured I had run too fast on saturday so my legs were spent. The real problem was I put the rear wheel on in the dark and it was rubbing on the chainstay. Do I get extra credit?

Is that chainstay bent.

In general I’m not a big fan of the look of beam bikes, but that’s very nice. Let us know if it’s fast once you ride it with a freely spinning rear wheel!
