OK, a few of these have already been posted but this was ordered 5 months ago prior to Interbike. Its a large!! The wheels are my training wheels so no comments that they don’t match and I still need to mount the bottle cage, black Zipp carbon cage. I retired the Zipp 2001 after yesterdays training ride. My first race is Sunday at the Desert Classic Duathlon. The first training ride is tomorrow. The photos are taken at the front of our Inn. Qrings, Simkins Calipers, Jagwire titanium braided cables, gold chain and gold chainring bolts on the inside. The aerobars are not angled down, it just looks like it, as I put my hands on top of the shifters. VisionTech base and aerobars custom painted white. The front end will go lower and forward as I adjust to get lower. The seat mast was cut down by just 1" to fit my long legs.
Its totally awsome the way the crankset goes in and out. You can remove the entire crankset in about 60 seconds. The fork is removeable in the same time, one bolt and it comes right off!! it was a joy to build. The workmanship by Look is great!
BTW…cutting the seat mast was very easy but a tad scarey. One mistake and its alot of money out the window. I measured and remeasured about 6 times before I cut.
here’s a pic of the front Simkins Design front brake caliper.
Thanks to Tom D and his staff for putting up with all my calls and PMs over the past 5 months : )
Nice looking bike in white although I still think it would look better without that stupid kink in the top tube.
I concur. Sweet bike though, but wish that kink was just sloped as specialized does it. Grats!
OK OK…they are angled down! BUT…when I rest my hands on the shifters the forearms are near level : ) I normally ride with the shifters in my hands or my hands on top of the shifters so it all works : )
I’ve got the Simkins brakes on my P3C and like them a lot. Haven’t ridden them much yet. Have you had them previously? If so, how have you liked them?
.
I rode them around the block about 1/2 mile on a test. Other then that tomorrow is the main test. I have to admit that they were tough to adjust on this frame. Not alot of room in the back and the front brake is mounted with the fork removed. You can’t get to the front brake bolt nut without removing the fork.
It was listed in the classifieds…but I’ll probably not sell it. It’ll be a fun ride when I take her out instead of this thing. The weight difference is awesome. The Zipp now feels like a brick, the Look is SSSSOOOOOOO lite!!!

My aero bars are also angled downward. When I’m riding it doesn’t FEEL angled downward.
No offense, it’s a cool bike, but it looks like the front end has a stem length of 140mm pointed almost straight up. How does the bike handle with a tiller hat short?
In reality it is not that short. Take a look at the pivot point of the fork. Its well behind the end of the stem. Look recommends stem “heights” up to and including straight up. Mine is not quite straight up and will eventually be moved forward and down. I also have the stem mounted in the lower set of holes on the fork. There are pics on the net that show a Look pros stem standing straight up.
In my short test ride, there was ZERO difference between the steering with this bike setup compared to my Zipp with a horizonal stem of 130mm.
