is late!! I’m bummed. I ordered a Guru Chron-alu 4 weeks ago. They told me 2-3 weeks, even with custom paint, so I went ahead and got the color/paint I wanted (geometry is standard). Now Guru says it won’t be shipped until next week and I won’t have it in time for the Florida Half.
I know all the advice about not racing on anything new, but I was really hoping that I would have it in time for this race. I think it would have made a big difference over my 8 year old, used road bike. I know I will have it for plenty of other races, but this is my first Half and it’s disappointing to not have it after training for over four months.
I figured I’d post here 'cuz you guys would understand.

I know how you feel. I ordered a new frame in October of last year from Orbea “Chrono”. My local bike shop said 6 to 8 weeks MAX. Well … I thought for sure I would have the thing built by the first of the year. At the end of January I find out that Orbea was not even going to produce the 2004 Chrono frames till Feb… I was not happy about this. The bike shop I have done business with for the last 5 years said they were not aware of this. Any way… When it finally showed up in mid April, it was all worth it. I love it and it is very fast. But I have to say, it drove me nuts waiting and I will not do that again. The next time I buy, I will buy from someone who has it in stock.
Good luck! I hope it arrives soon.
Don’t even get me started…
