Was out at Thetis lake swimming at 5:30 this moring. Was a gorgeous morning - 15 degrees, flat water with a bit of light mist still clinging. The only company in the park was a fisherman and 3 punk kids. Well, after my first lap wouldn’t you know it I get back to the beach and my bag is in a different spot from where I left it. The F-ing punk kids waited until I was gone and started rifling through the bag. Fortunately the fisherman walked past right then and the kids took off. Whew! There was no money in it, and THANKFULLY my car key was still there. The fisherman was nice enough to let me keep my bag near him for my second lap. Wow! I’m going to write the park board and see if there is any possibility of putting in some lockers…

Hmm… as I’m always looking for an exsuse to head over to MEC I might have to check this out - thanks. I think I’m going to have to start doing something differently. I just have no faith in today’s young punks.
That sucks!! When I swim/surf I use a shoe lace and put my car key down my back…Under my wetsuit, works great.

- pretty nice actually, and that was the air temp, not sure on the water temp but I swam with no wetsuit earlier this week.
My coldest swim yet would have been two weeks ago previewing the IMC course - it was 7 degrees outside (44 F). Brr! The water temp wasn’t too bad though, so it really only sucked when I got out. The next day when I was gone the weather went back up to about 30 degrees. Timing sucked on that one!
