Hi all,After much waiting I finally recieved my Medium Kuota Kalibur frameset in yesterday. After unpacking it(they wrap it up tight and very protective) I was amazed at the attention to detail.Being a bike shop owner, this is a characteristic that I look for in a manufacturer. I will give you all a report on how it rides this next week. Here is how I plan to build it up : Kuota Crankset(All Carbon) Mavic Kysrium TDF(Training) Reynolds Stratus DV UL(Racing) Profile Carbon X.DA 10 Spd setup. It’s amazingly light.I’ve been riding a Cervelo P3 for the last 4 years and was on a Corima Fox before that so will be a change for me going back to 700c wheels.Oh by the way,The Kuota’s are available at my little shop on the Alabama coast.
as long as it goes as fast as it looks . .
Post pics of bike when built, a little eye candy is always nice
What do you think about the fork? Does the frame have internal cable routing?
Dave from VA
Dude, you are a stud.
Three things.
-
Pics. You brag about it, you post it.
-
Please, please, please put a reynolds disc on it. A Kuota is a sexy race machine, don’t insult it.
-
Do you have a Felt DA laying around you don’t need?
Ok I will look into the Disc. When I last spoke with Reynolds they did not know when it was to be available.Patti the fork is sweet very light weight and follows the same smooth lines of the rest of the frame. The most striking feature I found to be was the box shaped top tube and alo the lettering is embossed into the frame. I will take some pics this week as I continue to build it up.

Guy’s here the picture about my Kalibur, This bike is a stud !!!
Light, Fast, Have something to give you in return of those long hours of training. I just loving it.
As Robert discrib the way they took care of the packaging, it’s the same thing for the rest of the line, KREDO, KHAN, KHARMA & KSANO.
See the review at www.pezcyclingnews.com (KHAN & KREDO)
.
Oh Patti no internal cables on the Kalibur except for the pass through of the front deraileur cable.
Have you noticed the excessively high stack height on the Kalibur? Or maybe the proper term is simply head tube height, which goes beyond the top tube as if one had about two cm. of spacers permanently attached.
I personally am not sold on these bikes. They strike me as peacocks with funky tube shapes to attract attention. But I haven’t ridden one. My local team got a deal on them (too low to reveal), and they have been putting in lots of miles and reporting lukewarm satisfaction with the bikes.
I will say the build quality looks superb. Aren’t they made by Martec?
“RotorCranks.com - Ride 2-3 minutes faster per hour. Guaranteed.”
So each hour now has a variable warp of 57 to 58 minutes? Dude, Rotorcranks are time machines!
Problem is I want to add time to my life, not shorten it.
How about something lighter and lenticular to boot? What do you think of a 675 gram disc wheel… I raced on it at the half CaliMan, and it withstood some amazing punishment.

Never understood why when someone is excited about his new bike and posts about it, someone always has to dog on it…
Elwood… Accel discs’ claimed weights are WITHOUT HUB… fully assembled they’re in the 900-1000g range.
I thought I was just expressing a healthy dose of skepticism about the design of the bike, but at the same time deferring to those of whom have ridden one to comment on such aspects as the extended head tube and ride qualities.
But you are right. We should help fellow triathletes feel good about the large pile of dough they just dropped on some sexy cloth and resin. It sure does look good.
Hey Elwood. Nice P2!
Becasue the Reynolds matches his front wheel. It’s light, it looks cool, and it’s new!
Thanks, but that’s not my P2, that pic is Eric Wohlberg from Falconsports.com’s website. I drive a BP Stealth, and the mustard colored wheel makes it really easy to find in T-1…
The Accel II is ugly, but distinctive. I was going ot have it painted, but I found out the coat of paint could add 20 grams!
¦:o)/
Not sure if you meant that I was dogging someone’s bike choice, but that wasn’t my intent. Just pitching the super-light Kevlar wheel.
The Accel II is 675 grams. Trust me, I own one. When the UPS guy dropped off the package, I ran the truck down and made him wait while I opened it, because I thought the box was empty. I switched from a HED Deep, and the weight difference is staggering. I think it may be under 1000g with gear cluster and tire…
The 1000g wheel from Falcon is the Trialist disc, which is graphite over honeycomb with an aluminum rim. Accel II is Kevlar, hollow and has a graphite rim. Great for hilly courses.
hey Robert…you still got that Fox laying around;-)?
I want one. I think the U.S. distributor tried to contact us but he got lost inthe haze of battle last week.
I tried the link but it did not work. Any other resources for us to get these guys?
