Got up early. Had 2 cups of coffee to be sharp and a slim fast for energy. I had been hydrating for a couple of days, so after some stretching, I was ready to go. Just recently got an A in the Mavis Beacon Typing course so I felt confident. I was feeling a little pressure from the wife and bank manager after talking out a 2nd morgage on a 2000 Watt diesel backup generator and Dell 9000 supercomputer, but there was no way I was going to start the registration process and DNF. Logged in held steady and got through the first screen. I had gone through this a 100 times in my head so between screens a had sip of flat coke and stretched a bit. At this point it got real dicey. The fire alarm went off and I heard screams in the kitchen. Lucky I had previously read “Lances guide to mental toughness”, so I ignored the screams and entered my credit card information. Hit the final submit button and bingo I’m in. Some time in 2011, I am signed up to do an IM! Fricken A Bubba! I’m pumped, off to Krispy Cream to celebrate.
Awesome Job! Where’d you find your recipe for the flat coke? What wheels were on your bike? Did you select the option to run across the finish with your a) immediate family b) extended family, or c) the whole neighborhood?
