Recently I finished building my Fuji D6 Matty Reed. All in I was able to build this up for around $2K; so I didn’t impact the kid’s college fund too much :). It’s a mix of a basic Profile Design cockpit, SRAM (Rival) / Ultegra mix, and Planet X (race wheels). The frame was a left-over from 2010 and the wheels were recently purchased. Overall I am very happy with the result. I was able to complete the build with the help of a friend who is my “wrench” and everything was pretty straightforward except the brakes. I will never go as fast as Boom Boom but at least I will feel fast!
Thank you. It was a fun project and I think what really shows is what can be accomplished under a budget. Of course having a good friend who is an excellent wrench saved some $$ and I could have saved more but purchased a lot of the parts from a local shop and not the internet.
I guess it looks okay, but I’ll reserve final judgement until I can see the drive side with the chain on the big ring. You know, the way people will see it when you’re passing on their left!

And if you have a color scheme containing lime green/yellow, and you insist on taking a picture with a bottle on the bike (and on the down tube no less ), at least have the bottle contents match the paint.
that’s funny… it was just a random shot for a coffee break while doing some base training yeah, i think i broke every st rule on taking a picture of your rig.
