I need to buy some aerobars for my road bike. Any suggestions or advice? These will be my first aerobars so really not sure what to look for. So far I have checked out some profile bars.
I hate to give you the old “go to the shop and try them out…everyone is different” line, so I am going to go ahead and say that you should get the Profile T2+ bars.
They are popular, and I had no comfort issues either training for, or racing in a 2006 Ironman.
I think they are on sale at all3sports.com, too.
I have the Profile T2+Carbon and have liked those. I was going to go with the “Ironman” version that has the “L” shaped bar but saw more people using the “S” bars. I like the “S” bar but my wrists hurt a bit when I first started using them, not anymore though. I feel like the “S” gives me more leverage to help me push harder. I’m puting a Vuka on my new bike with their “S” bar.
If you’re planning to just stick them on your road bars, you’ll want some type of “shorty” bar. Regular aero bars will leave you too stretched out. Vision makes a shorty, as does Syntace and Profile. Probably another one or two out there as well.
Khai, do you mean something like this. http://www.profile-design.com/2006_product_pages/aerobars/t2_DL.html
Would the T2+ DL be better than a regular T2+ if I’m using it on a road bike?
