My dog is home!

9 days ago while I was at Timberman my dog ran off from my friends that were watching her. After over a week of searching and calling shelters and posting flyers and sleepless nights she is back home with us tonight.

YAY!

I can only imagine the relief you are feeling. It’s my worst nightmare!

I bet she’s being spoiled tonight

Glad you got your big sweetie back…

Now those are some ears!!!

I swear every dog owner has one or two reunion stories like that to share. I don’t try to understand them anymore - I just chalk them up as miracles of life. It’s wonderful.

(you need to clean yer baseboard)

Awesome!!! Congratulations.
SOunds like your pup had a little adventure. : )

I hope she’s doing well.

I’m so glad to hear you got your dog back! I don’t know what I’d do If I lost my two doggies! They have never run off, but we just got them microchipped (the day after Timberman actually) in case they ever do.

Whew! I can’t tell ya how much bad stuff I see/hear about our beloved K9 buddies getting lost. Glad you got yours back.

Amen to the microchipping, y’all. I use the Home Again chip at work. All 5 of my critters are chipped AND registered with Home Again

Your puppy is cute! Glad she’s home safe.

What would we do without them? Glad she is safely home!!

Thanks to all for the kind words.

She actually IS microchipped and that was one of the scary things. My cell phone number is on 2 of her tags and she is chipped but we still hadn’t heard anything in over a week.

A note to anyone else that has to go through this: there seem to be communication breakdowns between people at both police departments and the SPCA as we have found out that both were called regarding our little girl but the people we spoke with hadn’t heard anything. This is in no way a slight to either facility, instead advice to speak to as many different people at the police and SPCA as possible!

I still can’t believe she’s home…

Steve

Congratulations!! That’s really great news!! Go have a nice meal and get a good night’s sleep–every one of you is probably long overdue for both. Oh, and she is ***absolutely ***adorable.

I can kind of relate to the missing dog agony–ours got out of her prong collar once (don’t ask, someone didn’t make sure it was on tight) and got smacked by a car. We saw the “flight” part of “fight or flight” in action–she took off like the proverbial bat out of hell. She dragged (literally) herself home about fourteen hours later, but, having no idea how badly she was hurt and living in coyote county, it was probably the longest fourteen hours of my life. She was banged up, bruised, and dehydrated, but otherwise okay. We kept asking her where she spent the day hiding, but she never 'fessed up. Like BottomFeeder said, it’s one of those miracles of life.

Our dog did exactly the same thing, slipped out of his collar ran into the street and got hit by a car. We had the hugest lucky break and he picked the bushes of someone who was home to hide in. They happened to call the vet down the street from them who we had happened to leave our info with an hour earlier. He was only missing for a few hours, but it was torture not knowing how badly he was hurt or if we’d ever find him back, especially since he was missing his collar with his tags on it.

To the OP, I’m so glad you got your baby back! She’s ADORABLE!

and i thought my dog Pokey had big ears.
thank God you got her back. i have found ( and kept) many a lost dog that the owners were no where to be found.
i have nightmares about losing one of my own.
she is a cutie and i know you can sleep now having her safe at home.

Congrats, your a lucky man.

Are you sure that is a dog? It looks more like a jackrabbit or a dingo.

great great great story. probably your hardest week ever, but a wonderful ending. what a sweetie you have.

GREAT news!

Thats awesome. Its nice to hear a feel good story. Congrats on getting her back.

Those are some serious ears!!! What a cutie!!

SO glad she is home! Losing my girl is my biggest fear!!! She is microchipped and wears about twelve tags at all times (ok, not really, but she does have her Home Again tag, her ID tag, her rabies tag which could identify her, and her Boulder open space tag)!!! And I’m STILL paranoid!

Spoil her rotten tonight.

I think I remember seeing her at Timberman (before she got lost) and thinking what a cutie she was! Pretty hard to miss with those big ears!
