My daughter got her first bicycle today!

She turned three and we got her a neato 12 inch girly bike with tassels, streamers a basket and more pink than Legally Blonde part 3.

Her eyes got huge and she squealed with glee when we showed it to her.

And then… she made me take her and it out in the 107 deg heat for a few trial runs down the street. (we have since moved to the living room)

She loves the thing so much, she had to eat her birthday cake while sitting on it. I’m a very proud papa.

You can buy the bike, but there are some things you just can’t buy.

Very cool!

Cool… we still have my daughter’s first bike… pink Barbie bike that I added pink tassles and a cute little basket to cute it up even more

fantastic!!! you’ll remember that forever.

.

yeah, she is definitely having issues with the pedaling action - so i may be going to the store tomorrow to get a tricycle or big wheel as well. I think those really help them learn how to pedal. I remember going through this with my nephew.

Enjoy your day as well!

Awesome - but where are the pics? This kind of an event demands pictures!

I’ve got pictures, video - the whole nine. But I’m on a mac :-(.

My son is turning 4 in a few weeks and he got his first bike at 3. He was never interested in the tricycle, but he loves his bike. To get him used to the pedaling action I put the training wheels up on phone books and blocked the front wheels. I few hours of free spinning and he was ready to practice in the neighborhood.

One of the happiest days so far was when he asked when he could do his first tri and I told him when he is 7. He got really angry because he can’t wait.

I bought my daughter (12 at the time) a bike for her birthday. I got a decent one in the colour she wanted and I paid more for it than I should have.

She’s ridden it twice in 5 years :frowning:

I ride the bikes in our family. She looks the best of us in our family (she’s almost 18 now) so we share the responsibilities I guess.
