My bright idea

may have already been thought of, but as I was riding this morning I couldn’t help notice how many folks were riding without lights. At the end of the ride as I took my helmet off- I though it would be cool if there was a slot in the rear of the helmet where a light could go, then it would be turned on and flash when you rode. You could also put a smaller light on the front. If they were removable for races- ideal.

Whaddya think?

Lights on, nobody’s at home.

Good idea. patent it and run with it.

Do you mean something like this:

and this?

That would be a good idea.

more something that can be removed and used for your running or walking… weight weenies would also prefer the removable element I am sure…

Make it carbon fiber.

I’m sure most red lights that are to be fitted on your bike can fit on your helmet…you can always add some on your arms/legs to look like a christmas tree…definitely weird, but (hopefully) safer, so who cares!

I strap a high powered strobe flash on my helmet. Everyone sees me, but there seem to be a lot of crashes behind me, I don’t know why! :stuck_out_tongue:

My wife keeps trying to tell me to get lights, even for daytime, like a mtorcycle. She figures we are cycling fast enough that most people under estimate the time they have to make turns and such and end up hitting us. She figures the light thing would be a great idea for cyclists. I keep telling her …NO!!!
