My bootay hurts

I had time in between client so I rode the damn stationary bike this morn for an hour and my bootay is freekin bruised I think
I ride it, forget what it does to me then ride it again
I need to ride myself a note to remind me
anyone else have this problem?

Same as changing saddles…don’t do it unless you expect the first time to hurt
.

Man, I can’t touch this one with a ten foot pole, I am happily married. I know 'cause my wife tells me so.

The one thing I will say is that any saddle requires regular riding to get comfortable with it. An hour here and and hour there somewhere down the line will just result in forever repeating the unhappy ending.

The girl does not hurt fellas
It is the sits
and you are right I never correlated the saddle thing cuz ya know those seats are made for big ole cabooses!!!

Isn’t it an ST rule that the appropriate response is:

PICS OR IT DIDN’T HAPPEN?! ;-p

As far as my wife is concerned, there is no distiction.

For the record, I knew where and what you were talking about. As for the size of the saddle, I have found the bigger ones to cause more discomfort on longer rides than smaller ones. I repeat, any saddle requires time in the saddle to adjust to it with any degree of comfort. Note, that time does not guarantee that all saddles will become comfortable.

ok…getting a visual…excellent…

assuming you’re wearing a decent pair of bike shorts, ride more and the hiney will hurt less. If you’re not wearing a decent pair of bike shorts get a pair. Those things are a get what you pay for item. Go on the cheap and you’ll have a sore taint. (if girls can have taints)

Dude I am an triathlete who has gone the distance
I have many pairs of decent bike shorts
thanks for the suggestion
it is just the LARGE WIDE saddle I sat on this am
.

Maybe it’s God’s/Alllah’s/Buddha’s way of punishing you for your spelling and punctuation!

Of course, the other problem with stationary bikes is just that - they’re stationary, so pressure points tend to build up more than if you’re on real terrain, where pressure on your rear migrates as your center of gravity moves; my road bike saddle is fine for a few hours outdoors, but stick it on my trainer and it’s bloody torture. And when I actually use the friggin’ stationary bike in the gym, what with the Super Size saddle, it’s really nasty.

Like a virgin! need a massage?

The width of the saddle probably wasn’t the only thing that was causing it. Unless the stationary bike was set up like your normal bike, the difference in geometry wasn’t helping things as well.

Chris

Were you pedaling at high rpm? If so, do you bounce? Bouncing will exacerbate the deliterious effects which occur at the saddle/bootay interface. Also, if the saddle is too high, you’ll wear yourself out. On a gym bike with a wide saddle I always have to run it lower than my road bike for that very reason.
