Man. Lost my little buddy, Mylo about 6 months ago at age 15. We knew Marley would not be far behind. Marley was 15 and was my baby girl. While all the other dogs tend to gravitate towards momma, Marley was daddy’s girl.
We got her from the WI Humane Society long before the book “Marley and Me” came out. She was a chill, laid back little thing, so, we named her after Bob Marley. But, she fooled us once we got home and turned into a little hell raiser. She came to us shortly after I lost my first dog and has been a mainstay in the home the past 15 years. They all are hard to lose, but, man, this one really, really hurts. Even with the new puppy in the house, Marley is, was, and will forever be my baby girl.
That’s rough - so sorry to hear the news. I’d bet a year’s salary that Mylo and Marley lived about the best lives that a dog could ask for, and 15 is a good long run. Mrs. Ti and I send our best to you guys.
Damn that sucks. My oldest girl is likely to go sometime in the next months. I make sure to Give her a couple extra tests every night just in case it’s her last.
I’m sorry to hear that. I hope she got some good meals in before the end. My last dog got a Wendy’s burger, 2 helpings of fries and parts of a frosty before he went down.
Dude…that is the worst. Remember the good and don’t be afraid to cry.
I lost my buddy back in may. Been 17 years with that little fucker, and I wouldn’t change any of it. He is still in my freezer because I still haven’t come to terms with losing him. I need to send him off to be cremated, but damn…its so hard, and hurts so bad. I miss him.
They love you unconditionally, no matter what. They are the best!
My heartfelt condolences. Dogs are one of the closest things I’ve ever seen to proof that a benevolent God exists. I’m sure you were both lucky to have each other.

Arby’s 1/2 lb roast beef sammich! She was elated, to say the least!
Thanks to everyone for the very thoughtful responses! I love the dog threads. The loss of dog threads always tug at the heartstrings, but, seeing the love we share for our furry family members always makes me smile.
