NIH - Not Invented Here - like what was said initially about aero bars.
Got to admit it is funny looking though … 
I examined the trubulence between my butt and my NeverReach in the wind tunnel and the potential reduction in drag with a similar ‘fairing’ is very large.
I have tried various shapes and all that is really required is to eliminate the low pressure area behind your butt and attach the slipstream to the NeverReach.
However it looks like even if disguised as a water bottle it would not pass muster - but other water bottles/hydro packs have been acceptable so who knows?
4:58 bike is pretty fast - what would he have done without the fairing?
