Kind of like how bicycle manufacturers never use pictures in their ads of bikes in their natural habitats,…stuffed in the back of a suburban garage under the garden hose behind the lawn mower.

My brother has a 2012 Mustang Boss. Really cool ultra fast car but not as nice as his classic 1972 Lotus Europa twin cam or 1973 Triumph TR6. His wife has a BMW Z4 something or other. Yeah, he makes more money than me. 
My old neighbor had a 1964 convertible that he had from new. He died a few years ago and left it to his grand kids. You guessed it - they immediately sold it. Sad.
My favorite Mustang - the mid 1980’s SVO. That car was really unique - best handling Mustang and a potent 2.3 turbo for the time. Was as fast as the GT V8 in a strait line and out braked and out cornered it easily. Unfortunately the missed the market. It was supposed to be a challenge to the Euro car enthusiast but the BMW/Porsche crowd were too snobbish because it was domestic Ford and it was above the heads of the V8 hot rod crowd. Also the styling wan’t the greatest and only a few small badges distinguished it form the regular 'stangs. Still, its one of my favorite Mustangs next to the 1965/66 Shelby’s.
You can thank McLaren for that stang, though SO ultimately did more with the Fox body than they did. Unfortunately that little turbo.4 was very unreliable.
FYI, 2015 Ford will release its ecoboost 4 cylinder turbo mustang. Despite the inevitable weight gain, it is about 2 seconds faster in the quarter than the old svo.
Modern tech is amazing.
