Music to workout to

Hey guys-
I’m looking for suggestions of music to train to. I am training for IMAZ and am in need of music while I do my long runs. I’m looking for something upbeat and that will keep me going.
Any suggestions?

Thanks
FP

Can you narrow that down a little more?

Opera
Rock
Country
Hip hop
Symphony
?

I’m open to most anything just as long as it has a quick beat so I can run to it. I run about a 7:30 miles for a marathon.

Rock/Hip Hop/Rap would be my top 3.

This weeks top 10 list would be:

Ivy - Edge of the Ocean
Thievery Corporation - 2001 Spliff Odyessy
Imogen Heap - Second Sense
John Martyn - Sunshines Better(Talvin Singh remix)
Massive Attack - Tear Drop
David Bowie - Heros
Jane’s Addiction - Pets
Snow Patrol - Run
Switch Foot - Meant to Live
U2 - Bad( Live Aid version)

Just a few tunes that came to mind.

Here is Lance’s list. What else would you possible need?

Some good tunes there, but isn’t “Pets” by Porno for Pyros (Perry’s side project)?

Hmmm…

“A Drug Against War” - KMFDM
“Hertz Steht Still” - Eisbrecher
“Chrome” - VNV Nation
“Stigmata” - Ministry
“Tanz Mit Mir” - Laibach

Something other than that, that’s one boring song list… and I’m not even part of the anti-Lance brigade.

Only 1 Sheryl Crow song?

No wonder he runs so damn slow!

No Tool, Metalica, AC/DC, Blink 182.

These are the bands that have been in my mp3 for about 5 months

  1. Coheed and Cambria (all 3 cds are AWESOME!)
  2. Armor For Sleep
  3. The Used
  4. Jack Johnson (first hour of a long run)
  5. The Early November (acoustic cd only)

Aren’t you a big Boy George fan?

Not really. Btw - when can I give you back that Wham cd you gave me for Xmas last year. The thought was nice but since it says “Property of ATX” on the inside cover I’d like to give it back to you. I know you must miss it terribly.

Your mom gave it to me so I will ask her when I am available.

So if you’ve seen the new tri dvd “What it Takes”…there are a couple of songs from the soundtrack which just jam and when you hear them through your headphones, somehow makes you feel like you’re Peter Reid just starting the Kona bike leg…then you realize you’re not, but that’s not the point. Plus, they’re free for download:

“Good Suspicion” by Pacemaker Jane http://www.garageband.com/song?|pe1|S8LTM0LdsaSkZlawamg

“Broken” by Complete http://www.garageband.com/song?|pe1|S8LTM0LdsaSkZVWzZmo

thanks for the links. “Broken” is a good tune!

I have a new found respect for you. Not me people know of M.A.

Just pick music from obscure bands most people haven’t heard of – people will think you’re hip. Of course, if you’re truly hip, you’ll listen to nothing but Neil Diamond.
