A friend of mine wants to buy some type of water proof music device like a walkman to wear while swimming…anyone ever buy something like this?
no but I’ve seen some adverts for mp3 that can be used in the pool-think I saw them in “triathlete”-

It is called Swimp3 player by Finis. The shop I work at has them… I am not sure how well it works. I am intrigued by the way it works. It conducts the sound through your check bone.
Speedo has made a small FM radio that clips to your goggles in the past, but I don’t know how well it worked, plus it was just radio, not MP3.

oregon scientific makes a water proof mp3 player that I’m curious if anyone has used.
i used to have this speedo one, but didn’t use it in the pool. worked great for running - clipped right on my hat.
I got the SwiMP3 from Finis. It sounds alright when the “headphones” are under water. Bass is completely gone, but the clarity is actually pretty good. I recommend wearing earplugs when using the player, otherwise when you emerge from the water, it is really loud.
