Confession time.
Just so I don’t have to sit through that and watch it…what is the joke?
???
Too confused to know whether I should be happy I’m not on your list.

I think you are, actually. Teusoni I think is a misspelled tetsuoni.
confess to what?
Here’s a ture story for you. About 20 years ago I was in New Orleans for a road race (running) and was relaxing in the hotel and had just finished watching a Nicolas Cage move, Wild at Heart. Chris Isaak did the one of the songs for the movie, Wicked Game. I was wondering who he was, had never heard of him before. Later that evening I went down to the Hard Rock Cafe and there was one of his guitars hanging on the wall. Have loved his music ever since then.
Wicked Game. Great video, definitely helped me in my…development.
Huh? I got bored watching that after < 2 mins. Is there a point somewhere?
IMoo 1950
.
Sorry about that, Chief. Fixed it for you.
SO you are racing Moo…good luck. Why was it a secret? If you see Strauss be sure to buy him a beer
When do we hook up?
OK, so I still don’t really get the YouTube vid link (and I’m not wasting another second watching it), but I do get yer doing Moo.
2 questions:
HOW?
WHY?
HOW did you get in? I know you are an experienced male escort/kept man/gigolo, but it must have taken all your “charms” to wangle an entry at this late stage.
Unless you signed up a year ago like all the other lemmings, in which case…
WHY? Either you were going to have a great race at LP and get to Kona, or you weren’t.
What makes you think you’ll magically somehow not suck on the run at Moo now?
Why would you want to do another IM so soon?
We will still plan on seeing you at AmZof LC. No wussing out of that.

So many questions, so little time.
How - the True Confession Time - I took a Community slot a week after LP (beginning of August THIS YEAR), i.e. less than a month ago. (Baby did a bad bad thing.) Yep, community slots were (are?) still available. Contrary to what some (many?) believe, IM Logo race demand is easing, at least during the current economy.
Why - I knew going into LP that the run was going to be iffy as I had a spotty June month of training due to travel and an acting up hammy which reduced both quantity and quality of my run miles. The run started to come around in mid July, but there wasn’t much time to add to a base.
At LP, reality bit hard at the 21 mile mark of the run. I couldn’t complain or fault anyone, including myself, and 5th AG was “respectable”. Still, after getting back home, I was more than a little pissed, and mostly at myself. Rational? Probably not.
I already committed to not doing an IM next year, meaning not attempt to Kona qualify, as it takes up to much time and energy. Next year will be a family year. But coming out of LP, I felt great. I got back into workouts after four days quite comfortably. Only running 21 miles of an IM apparently allows for that. OTOH, I have no problem racing half IMs two weeks apart with no drop off in performance.
So, I perused the IMoo entry list and saw an absence of the Joe Bonness (still 54 thankfully), Brockenbroughs, Ames Oakes, unknown Europeans and Canuckistanis and figured what the Hell, I’m in about the best shape of my life and I should take advantage of it. That leaves the ever present, unknown one or two ringers to deal with of course. I do have a pretty good idea who the known contenders are.
So, I’ve been on a run emphasis training plan the last five weeks, which saw 9 minutes come off my 16 mile bench mark run last week as compared to my June and July times. Plus, unlike June and July, I was quite happy to keep running after 16 miles. Prudence called and advised that I shut it down for the day. Bike and swim are still there. (Nine minute bike PR at LP this year with 2:51, 2:57 splits if you pleaase.)
I did IMOO in '06 (The Great Freeze Out, AKA the Coldest Ever NA IM), and I really like that course. The bike is particularly suited to my tastes.
Not to put to much pressure on myself (that’s what you guys are here for), but this is one last chance to redeem my run. I know there is a four hour IM run in me somewhere.
Worse case scenario, it will be a great tune up day for Am Zof. By training through October instead of shutting down at the end of July, I figure I’ll be able to hold you off until the second run lap after the bike (yeah, right). Besides, I thought I saw somewhere that Tigerchik is going to be there.
In all honestly, I am actually looking forward to some Am Zof specific training after IMOO. It’s also good to see your name on the partypants list, finally.
Oh, one other thing. Thanks for the heads up on racing/training flats in the thread posted about 4 weeks ago. I got a pair of the Brooks T5 (with yer discount) and I like 'em. I ran 10 miles on Long Meadow Rd yesterday averaging 8:30 which I believe is a PB for me on that run (five good hills). I’m looking forward to giving them a go at IMOO.
Baby did a bad bad thing. I love that song! What’s with you guys???
When do we hook up?
Are you going to be there? That would be sweet. I’m still not that familiar with Madison, being located on the East coast. OTOH Madison is just about a hop, skip and a jump for you.
Just a hop - about 30 minutes from the belt line (south). Where do you land and when?
IM Logo race demand is easing, at least during the current economy.
Maybe. Hard to measure that exactly as the WTC is adding so many new races over a short period of time in this shaky economy. That’s pulling people in different directions with other options.
Another interesting fact was that at IMC last weekend, I heard there was a record number of roll-down spots for IMH up for grabs!** **It was the same at IMLP last month.
